UMTS SAL is seeking an experienced Rail Alignment Specialist to lead a critical project involving Ship-to-Shore (STS) crane rail systems at a major container terminal in West Africa.

Role Overview :

As Project Lead, you will oversee the full lifecycle of the rail alignment scope — from planning and precision surveying to execution, compliance, and final acceptance. This role requires hands-on expertise in STS crane rail installation, straightness measurement, leveling, and welding coordination . You will be the technical authority on-site, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and to international standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead rail alignment operations for STS crane rails (including straightness, leveling, anchoring, and welding interfaces).
Supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to OEM, ISO, and DIN standards.
Coordinate with clients, third-party inspectors, and internal technical teams.
Prepare daily reports, progress tracking, and method statement updates.
Provide technical solutions to overcome on-site challenges.

Requirements :

Proven experience in rail alignment projects (preferably port / STS crane rail systems).

Strong background in surveying instruments (electronic straightness measurers, total stations, laser alignment tools).

Knowledge of Gantrex or equivalent rail fastening systems.

Excellent leadership, reporting, and client communication skills.

Willingness to travel and work on-site at international ports.
