We are seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to specialize in the design, development, and validation of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers. This role involves using a strong foundation in thermal sciences to create efficient and compliant HVAC systems, while also supporting cross-functional teams and managing key industry certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development of Air-cooled and Water-cooled Chillers , including component sizing, integration, and product validation.
- Conduct thermal design calculations for heat exchangers , chiller components, and piping systems.
- Evaluate and improve performance of screw and centrifugal compressors used in chillers.
- Coordinate AHRI and BEE certification processes for chiller systems.
- Perform chiller performance testing , optimization, and documentation as per global standards.
- Assist in the selection of HVAC system components such as expansion valves, compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
- Support Sales and Service teams with technical guidance and performance data.
- Work with cross-functional teams (design, production, QA) to ensure manufacturability and quality.
- Use selection software and engineering tools to support the sizing and specification of components.
- Ensure compliance with HVAC industry standards such as ASHRAE, AHRI, ISHRAE, and SMACNA.
Skills Required
Strong fundamentals in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Fluid Mechanics .Proficiency in HVAC and thermal system design .Working knowledge of heat exchanger design (shell & tube, plate type, etc.).Experience in compressor selection and performance analysis (screw & centrifugal).Familiarity with AHRI certification protocols , BEE compliance , and relevant codes.Experience in chiller performance testing , data interpretation, and troubleshooting.Competency in CAD software , preferably CATIA or SolidWorks.Knowledge of piping layout , material selection, and pressure drop calculations.Good communication and teamwork skills.Skills Required
