Qualifications : BE (Mechanical / Chemical) with 20+ years of experience preferably in Oil & Gas / EPC industry

Role Overview :

The Head of Engineering is responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering discipline (Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument, Civil-structural and process safety) activities to ensure the successful execution of projects. This role encompasses strategic, processes, people, and operational aspects, requiring a focus on project schedules, quality standards, safety regulations, and team leadership. The Head of Engineering leads multidisciplinary Engineering team, plans and communicates effectively, and drives continuous improvement across engineering processes.

Job Description :

• Understand and align project objectives with customer requirements, blueprints, and engineering design documents.
• Develop and implement engineering strategies to meet project deadlines, quantities and specifications.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, methodologies, and standards.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with external interface - clients, suppliers, and regulatory authorities and among in-house engineering team.
• Optimize and establish new engineering processes and procedures for efficient handling of large-scale EPC projects.
• Lead & coordinate for all Engineering design calculations, , reports, drawings, datasheet, specification, Modelling as per scope of work and all other engineering deliverables,
• Collaborate with sub-contractors to troubleshoot design challenges and ensure compliance with client requirements.
• Participate in preliminary design, tender drawing preparation, proposal cost estimation, and material sourcing.
• Collaborate with commercial and procurement teams to prepare accurate quotations and develop vendors.
• Ensure alignment of design with client specifications and address design-related issues with sub-contractors.
• Cultivate a skilled engineering team by providing necessary tools, design software, resources, and training.
• Lead and manage a diverse team of design engineers and draughtsman, ensuring effective execution of engineering activities.
• Engage with clients, respond to queries, and provide clarifications across various engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate closely with project management teams to ensure job execution aligns with defined scopes.
• Team Development : Build a team with FEED capabilities to support future projects and foster a culture of growth.
• Oversee the end-to-end execution of engineering projects, adhering to project schedules and quality standards.
• Collaborate with commercial and procurement teams for technical bid evaluation & material sourcing, vendor development.
• Ensure compliance with client design and specifications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering outputs
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, addressing queries and maintaining effective project communication.
• Monitor team performance, track milestones, and ensure job execution within defined scopes.
• Identify potential risks during project execution and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
