Hardware Engineer - Power Electronics

You’ll be working with the Engineering team.

This team runs on coffee with an infectious passion for building products that have never been built before. Our Flexible Energy Stack consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station) which together unlock 15-minute rapid charging.

What you will do :

At Exponent, we unlocked 15-minute rapid charging of a Battery pack as a result of our e^pump (Charging Station) and e^pack (Battery) working together. Hardware Engineering is an integral part of both these systems. Everything on the Hardware Side from Architecture Design, Component Selection, Schematic, Layout, and DFX impacts the 15-minute rapid charging behavior.

We are looking for rockstar Hardware Engineers to work with us on our Flexible Energy Stack.

To rapid charge anything (2-wheeler to a multi-axle platform) in flat 15 mins, we need to fulfill multiple requirements : 10X accurate voltage sensing, 10X faster cell balancing, scales across voltage platforms (40-800V), CAN sense and handle upwards of 600A and has enough intelligence to manage 100’s of cells and Multiple Chargers in parallel

This needs impeccable hardware design skills and a deeply integrated firmware experience.

Responsibilities :

Define the right architecture (Question any existing architecture)

• Get. Set. Production.
• Block-diagram to schematics to layouts to characterizing it to testing it to working with our manufacturing partner to scale it – you will own this.
• Timeline vs. Quality vs. Cost
• Choose the right components at the right price point to meet the specifications and make smart trade-offs
