Overview :
A subject matter expert and who has experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining systems, infrastructure, middleware, and networking components in support of business requirements. Works within an agile team to provide infrastructure needs. Performs incident resolution, patching, configuration changes, and infrastructure upgrades. Provides technical support during both critical and non-critical business hours. Proactively identifies and automates the resolution of availability and performance failures throughout the environment. Mentors less experienced engineers on platform engineering infrastructure, processes, and procedures. Ensures that appropriate training is developed and conducted to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.
Responsibilities :
Responsible for troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, physical and virtual infrastructure, middleware, and networking components to fulfill business requirements.Provides complex technical support during critical and non-critical business hours on server hardware, operating systems, and software. Will be proactive and reactive for problem alerting, analysis, resolution, and follow up to ensure platform stability.An Architect level Engineer who demonstrates high skills and mastery of most or all the Platform Engineering core technologies.Provides technical design, development, implementation and support for network engineering projects and operational functions in order to meet Paychex business requirements on time and in a quality manner.Performs complex application and storage system upgrades (hardware / software)Embrace Continuous Delivery principles such as Version Control, Continuous Integration, and Testing (smoke, sanity, regression), using tools like Git, Artifactory, Puppet, and Ansible to deliver robust IT solutions.Creating / developing automation using scripting languages (Bash, Powershell) and programming languages (Python) to enhance system functionality and advance our self-service, automation, and orchestration capabilities.Utilize the latest technologies from leading companies such as Arista, Cisco, Juniper, F5, HPE, Infinidat, Microsoft, Oracle, Red Hat, along with open-source innovations critical for delivering our IT services.SME in troubleshooting skills across Windows, Linux and Networking devices.Participate in the root cause analysis, document the key outcomes, and transfer the discoveries and findings to the functional teams.Identify the operational issues and develop effective, long-term solutions aimed at resolving these issues as well as address complex incidents to ensure sustainability and efficiency in our operations.Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors. Work with them independently to identify and solve complex problems related to vendor performance.Mentors the team on implementations requiring a bigger picture view and facilitates cross training sessions for more junior members of the team.Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree - Required8 - 12 years of experience in Building and supporting enterprise network environments.Must be experienced with MPLS, BGP, OSPF and large L2 / L3 switching environments. Must have troubleshooting experience in an MPLS, WAN, LAN and Wi-Fi environments. Experience with various storage platforms such as SAN and NAS is a plusExperience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, or Bash for network automationCCIE or CCNP certification is preferredEnglish proficiency : Effectively communicate with the team, partners, and leaders including both verbal and written methods.
