Product Designer II

Position Summary :

This position will focus on working with members of the Inspire Brands User Experience Research & Design team, as well as other stakeholders. Contributions will consist of individual and team efforts.

Job Summary :

The Inspire Brands User Experience Research & Design team designs web and app experiences for our brands. We are looking for a Product Designer II with passion and experience designing e-commerce experiences that are simple, usable, and desirable for our users.

This role will help usher in next generation experiences for our portfolio of brands. The Product Designer II will actively design experiences for our brands’ customers and franchisees and help evolve our unified design system. Our designers translate business goals into digital experiences in collaboration with other teams including Brand, Product Management, Engineering and Performance Analytics. Individual responsibility is very high, and impact and reward are huge.

The UX Research & Design team at Inspire Brands is a centralized team with designers working in an agile environment as part of multi-disciplinary scrum teams to design and develop prioritized features from our product roadmap.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Experimentation Mindset : Identify opportunities to test hypotheses and support testing with different design options to collect user feedback.

Generating Early Design Concepts : Sketch, wireframe, and prototype product experiments. Collaborate with engineers to investigate concept feasibility.

Specifying Finished Designs : Design high-fidelity, mobile-first solutions with UI, visual, and interaction excellence. Iterate with developers during the build phase to realize and ship new product.

Research and Testing Capabilities : Coordinate UX research and prototype tests. 10%

Continuous Iteration and Refinement : Advocate for and initiate product iteration to improve shipped work. Evaluate new insights and iterate rapidly.

Team Involvement and Participation : Collaborative work with the rest of the UX team – critiques, design jams, group learning, contributing to the design system.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS :

Preferred Bachelor’s Degree programs may include : Design, Computer Science, Software Design, Digital Media, Social Science, Engineering or other.

Preferred Master’s Degree programs may include : User Experience (UX) Design, Computational Media, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Service Design, Design Management or other.

In lieu of formal education, equivalent training and / or experience is required.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION :

5+ years of experience in UX design and Product design, including product thinking, e-commerce design, interaction design, information architecture, design research.

Core UX Requirements :

Design thinking, e-commerce design, interaction design, information architecture, mobile-first design, web design and responsive design.

Hands-on experience and high degree of expertise in Figma for both design and prototyping.

Experience using and contributing to enterprise user interface guidelines and design systems.

Awareness of design and usability guidelines for mobile and web interfaces.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

5+ years of experience in UX design and Product design, including product thinking, e-commerce design, interaction design, information architecture, mobile-first web and app responsive design, design research.

Ability to guide other designers as a lead member of the design team. This is not a graphic design / visual design role.

Working style : Solve more complex design problems at the charter / capability level (e.g., overall shopping experience). Able to manage multiple projects at a time. Being self-directed, organized, and efficient is key.
