Job Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Blind Accessibility Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in accessibility testing, with a particular focus on ensuring digital products are accessible to blind and visually impaired users. This role will involve testing web and mobile applications to ensure compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and other relevant accessibility standards.
As a Blind Accessibility Tester, you will work closely with our development team to identify accessibility issues and provide feedback on how to improve the user experience for individuals who rely on screen readers and other assistive technologies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct accessibility testing for websites and mobile applications with a focus on blind users.
- Evaluate digital products against WCAG 2.1 / 2.2, ADA, and other accessibility standards.
- Use screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to test websites and apps.
- Identify and report issues related to accessibility, including navigation, user interface, content readability, and compatibility with assistive technologies.
- Work closely with the development team to provide actionable feedback on how to fix accessibility issues.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of accessibility testing guidelines, processes, and checklists.
- Participate in regular accessibility audits, ensuring that all projects meet required compliance standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement accessible design practices.
- Advocate for inclusive design within the team and across the organization.
Requirements :
3-5 years of experience in accessibility testing or a related field.Strong experience using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) and other assistive technologies.Deep understanding of WCAG 2.1 / 2.2, ADA, Section 508, and other accessibility standards.Experience with tools such as Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, and other accessibility testing platforms.Knowledge of accessibility-related issues and the ability to identify barriers to usability for blind users.Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report issues and collaborate with teams.Experience with web and mobile application testing.Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic front-end web development principles.Passion for improving accessibility and ensuring digital inclusivity for blind and visually impaired users.Preferred Qualifications :
Certification in accessibility or usability (e.g., IAAP, CPACC, WAS).Experience with automated testing tools for accessibility.Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
