The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for :
- Producing blueprint design and development plans for cloud solutions and infrastructure projects; incorporating innovative solutions into blueprints.
- Supporting the implementation of cloud-based solutions throughout the organization; serve as a cloud advocate; offering guidance to end-users.
- Monitoring key metrics necessary to monitor the performance of overall operations i.e. capacity, availability, integrity and cost-efficiency.
- Providing day-to-day maintenance to critical cloud applications; produce time estimates for maintenance windows; communicating such estimates to relevant stakeholders.
- Participating in knowledge sharing sessions; offering relevant cloud engineering expertise to cross-functional teams; participating in code and design reviews.
- Collaborating with cyber security and software engineering teams to ensure the security of cloud based solutions.
Required Qualifications :
5+ years of working experience with cloud engineering; developing cloud solutions; cloud architectureExperience developing and implementing cloud adoption plans and cloud application designDesired Qualifications :
Experience working in the financial services industry; understanding of the role of custodial and consumer banks; experience managing sensitive financial dataExperience with : VMware, vSAN, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, NSX, SDN, etc.Experience working in an agile development environmentWorking experience with cyber security; cyber security coursework, experience or certificationsExperience with infrastructure architecture; cloud-applications to infrastructureEducation and Certifications :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related disciplineExperience in the following :
CI / CD Tooling, Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, Terraform, Ansible, Python, Chaos Engineering Tooling, RedHat, Linux, Windows, VPC, Firewalls, IAM, Encryption,Proficiency with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch or DataDog. Setting up multi Cloud monitoring and alerting systemsCost management : Optimizing Cloud spend using tools like Apptio, AWS Cost Explorer, or azure cost managementProficiency in languages like Python, Go, Terraform for automation and tooling, Familiarity with Cloud SDKs and APIs.Infrastructure as Code IaC, Containerization (Openshift, EKS, AKS)(ref : hirist.tech)
