Manual QA Engineer Chennai

As a QA Engineer in NIQ Activate you will play a vital role within the R&D team ensuring that all software delivered to clients is stable high-quality and bug-free.

Using strong analytical skills manual testing techniques and QA best practices you will validate product functionality across environments identify and report defects verify fixes and help improve overall release quality.

Ultimately you will ensure that our products applications and systems perform flawlessly and meet NIQs quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze system requirements acceptance criteria and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with QA Engineers Developers and Product Owners to define effective test strategies and test plans .
• Execute manual functional regression and exploratory testing across multiple environments.
• Maintain and execute test cases in Zephyr ensuring proper traceability to user stories in Jira.
• Perform sanity and smoke testing post-deployment and ensure timely validation of releases.
• Verify API responses and integrations using tools like Postman ensuring backendfrontend consistency.
• Identify log and retest defects with clear steps to reproduce screenshots and evidence.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (grooming sprint planning daily stand-ups retrospectives).
• Collaborate closely with the development team during defect triage and root cause discussions.
• Support QA metrics tracking such as defect leakage coverage and test execution progress .
• Continuously improve QA documentation test design and processes for higher efficiency.
