About The Role : Building Our Next-Gen Data Core
This is a critical 0-to-1 initiative โa technically hands-on leadership role to own, lead, and execute the development of our next-generation, high-scale data platform.
You will lead a team of talented Data Engineers in building an event streaming ecosystem (primarily Kafka) designed to handle billions of events daily . This platform will be the core engine for real-time decisioning, advanced experimentation (A / B testing), and operational analytics across our multi-cloud environment. The success of this role is dependent on delivering a system that is robust, performant, and resilient to failure under immense scale.
What You'll Do
As the Data Engineering Manager II , you will be responsible for the end-to-end vision and execution of the Real-Time Data & Experimentation Platform. Your core focus areas include :
- Technical Strategy & Architecture : Define the technical vision and multi-cloud reference architecture for the Events Streaming and Experimentation platforms. Lead the design for petabyte-scale data flows , ensuring strict HA / DR, security, and data residency compliance within the fintech landscape.
- People Leadership & Mentorship : Manage, mentor, and coach a growing team of 5-10 high-performing Data Engineers. Drive high-bar hiring to recruit top-tier talent in distributed systems and stream processing.
- Operational Excellence & Scale : Own the platform roadmap from conception to launch. Establish robust observability standards (SLOs / SLAs) and implement best practices for cost-effective operation of our complex multi-cloud infrastructure.
- Cross-Functional Impact : Partner closely with Product Management and Infrastructure / SRE teams to translate critical business needs into highly scalable engineering solutions.

Minimum Requirements
8-15 years of total experience, including 5+ years in Data Engineering and a minimum of 2+ years in direct management of data or platform engineering teams.Strong, demonstrable Kafka expertise : operational management of large-scale, mission-critical Kafka clusters, configuration tuning, and cross-cluster replication.Proven track record in designing, building, and operating highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems capable of processing billions of events daily.Demonstrated ability to define clear, scalable architectures for real-time streaming pipelines.Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in Fintech or a highly regulated industry.Experience with advanced streaming technologies like Spark, Flink , or similar real-time processors.Familiarity with multi-cloud deployment strategies (at least two of AWS, GCP, or Azure).Experience building or integrating with Experimentation (A / B Testing) platforms
