We are seeking an experienced and strategic SMS Deliverabilty Mnaager to join our team. In this role, you will lead our SMS Deliverability Consulting practice, overseeing a team of deliverability consultants while defining and implementing SMS deliverability strategies for our enterprise clients.
Strategy & Consulting
- Act as the in-house expert on SMS deliverability, responsible for monitoring delivery rates, latency, and operator-level performance across key markets (India, Middle East, Japan, SEA).
- Partner with enterprise clients to design and execute SMS deliverability strategies that maximize reach and engagement while ensuring compliance with local telecom regulations.
- Stay ahead of carrier policy changes, DLT regulations, and global messaging standards to ensure consistent deliverability and throughput.
- Work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to define deliverability best practices and optimize messaging performance.
Deliverability Issue Resolution
Serve as the final escalation point for complex deliverability or routing issues related to carrier filtering, sender ID restrictions, or message template rejections.Analyze routing data, DLR reports, and operator feedback to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.Build and maintain relationships with telecom aggregators, carriers, and SMS gateway providers to proactively manage throughput and sender reputation.Ensure proper configuration and monitoring of sender IDs, templates, and DLT registrations for all high-volume accounts.Develop and maintain deliverability dashboards, track key performance indicators (DLR%, latency, operator-wise performance), and recommend optimization strategies.Business Growth & Client Success
Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales teams to identify opportunities for campaign optimization and service upsells related to SMS strategy and routing efficiency.Partner with clients to improve ROI through high-quality deliverability consulting and performance improvements.Provide actionable insights to clients on improving campaign performance, content compliance, and operator engagement rates.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to shape the product roadmap for SMS routing and deliverability features.Partner with Marketing and CS teams to develop best-practice playbooks, whitepapers, and thought leadership content showcasing Gateway’s expertise in global messaging.Collaborate with Support teams to resolve client-specific issues and improve overall messaging reliability.What You’ll Bring
7–10 years of experience in SMS Deliverability, Carrier Relations, or related fields (CPaaS, Messaging Infrastructure, Telecom Operations).Strong understanding of A2P messaging, carrier routing, DLT compliance, and sender reputation management.Experience managing deliverability across multiple markets (India, GCC, SEA, Japan) and working with both local and global aggregators.Hands-on experience with SMS gateway platforms (Twilio, Route Mobile, Kaleyra, Gupshup, Infobip, MSG91, etc.).Familiarity with operator-level feedback mechanisms, DLR analysis, and traffic routing optimization.Understanding of SMS content regulations (TRAI DLT, CTIA, GDPR, PDPA, etc.) and campaign compliance management.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable deliverability improvements.Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and client management skills in high-pressure situations.Bonus :
