Are you an accomplished engineering leader with a passion for driving excellence in software quality and release readiness Do you possess deep expertise in automation, cloud-native testing, and leading high-performing quality teams Join us as we elevate our quality discipline, increase transparency, and modernize our testing approach through AI and automation.
As the Director of Software Quality, reporting directly to the CTO, you will shape our quality strategy, enforce engineering standards, and provide unfiltered visibility into quality risks, defect trends, vulnerabilities, and release readiness. You will partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, and Security to build a scalable, data-driven quality function grounded in proactive risk management. The ideal candidate thinks creatively, applies AI-assisted automation, and increases efficiency without expanding headcount.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a high-performing quality organization focused on automation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are clear, testable, traceable, and complete prior to development.
- Define and steward engineering readiness criteria before work progresses into QA, including unit test completeness, static analysis expectations, and remediation of known defects.
- Champion modern quality engineering best practices, including API / UI testing, scalability, performance, and shift-left approaches, leveraging AI-assisted tooling to elevate coverage and defect detection.
- Partner with DevOps and Cloud Engineering to ensure environment stability, observability, deployment automation, and reliable regression execution, integrating quality automation into CI / CD pipelines.
- Provide comprehensive weekly quality dashboards that surface defect aging, severity, escaped defects, vulnerability backlog, automation coverage, regression outcomes, and release readiness.
- Support release governance by ensuring deployments meet defined quality, security, and operational criteria, collaborating with stakeholders to sequence remediation when necessary.
- Reinforce engineering accountability for unit testing discipline, coding standards, and timely defect remediation, partnering to prevent rework.
- Apply predictive analytics and AI-assisted tooling to identify risk hotspots, prioritize regression tests, cluster failures, and accelerate defect triage.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration and proactively resolve quality-impacting conflicts, driving alignment and follow-through.
- Promote a culture of learning by upskilling teams in automation, AI-driven testing, and modern quality engineering techniques.
- Continuously evaluate emerging quality innovations to improve engineering efficiency, product stability, and release confidence.
