The Job
Key Responsibilities :
Performance Tuning :
Leverage tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), SQL Trace, AWR, and ASH to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.Optimize databases through query tuning, indexing, caching, and partitioning strategies.Database Administration :
Perform comprehensive backup, recovery, and routine maintenance tasks to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.Manage database security, user access, and auditing in compliance with organizational policies.SQL Optimization & Query Tuning :
Fine-tune complex SQL queries for performance and maintainability.Implement indexing strategies and caching mechanisms to speed up query responses.Database Design & Architecture :
Collaborate with application development teams to architect scalable, efficient database solutions.Implement database partitioning, replication, and clustering (e.g., RAC, Data Guard) when required.Capacity Planning & Monitoring :
Monitor resource utilization (disk, memory, CPU) and forecast future capacity needs.Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations in a timely manner.Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution :
Investigate and resolve performance issues, data corruption, and system errors.Develop proactive monitoring protocols to prevent service interruptions.Documentation & Best Practices :
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including configurations, tuning guidelines, and standard procedures.Establish and enforce best practices in database management and security.The Profile
Required Qualifications :
8+ Years of experience as an Oracle DBA with a strong focus on performance tuning.Proficiency in Oracle backup and recovery (RMAN, Data Pump) and maintenance tasks.In-depth knowledge of SQL tuning, indexing, caching, and execution plans.Familiar with OEM, AWR, ASH, ADDM, and other Oracle monitoring tools.Hands-on experience with partitioning, replication, RAC, and Data Guard.Ability to script using SQL, PL / SQL, Python, Shell, or PowerShell.Strong problem-solving abilities with a track record of troubleshooting complex database issues.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adept at working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) :
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification.Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS RDS, or Azure SQL Database.Familiarity with NoSQL and Big Data technologies.Exposure to DevOps and automation tools for database management.Additional Details :
Location Requirement : Remote during contract duration, but candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Hyderabad, India if converted to a full-time role.Work Authorization : Must be able to work on a contract basis in India.Contract-to-Hire : Opportunity for permanent employment upon successful contract completion and mutual agreement.The Employer
