About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist who is passionate about leveraging data-driven techniques to solve high-impact business problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in classical machine learning, forecasting, and optimization techniques, combined with hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, and statistical modeling.
The role involves working on end-to-end analytical projects including demand forecasting, pricing optimization, and inventory management, while collaborating closely with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities :
Model Development & Deployment :
- Design, develop, and deploy predictive and optimization models for real-world business use cases such as demand forecasting, dynamic pricing, and inventory optimization.
- Implement and validate classical ML algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Decision Trees, XGBoost, Time Series Models).
- Apply feature engineering, model tuning, and validation techniques to ensure robust model performance.
Business Problem Solving :
Translate complex business problems into structured analytical frameworks.Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making.Deliver actionable insights and recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes.Data Management & Engineering :
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows using Python and SQL.Work closely with Data Engineering teams to ensure smooth data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and model integration into production systems.Manage and process large datasets, ensuring data quality and consistency.Analytical Delivery & Communication :
Develop clear, compelling data stories, visualizations, and reports using tools like Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, or seaborn.Present analytical outcomes and strategic insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.Document model development processes, assumptions, and validation results.Leadership & Mentorship (L4 / L5 Levels) :
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data scientists and analysts.Manage project delivery across multiple accounts or business verticals.Drive adoption of data science best practices and standards across the organization.Required Skills and Experience :
Technical Skills :
Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, NumPy, SciPy).Proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.Solid understanding of classical ML algorithms, including :Linear & Logistic RegressionDecision Trees / Random Forests / XGBoostTime Series Forecasting (ARIMA, SARIMA, Prophet, Exponential Smoothing)Clustering & Segmentation TechniquesHands-on experience with model evaluation, cross-validation, and hyperparameter tuning.Domain Expertise (any of the following) :Demand ForecastingPrice OptimizationInventory Optimization / Supply Chain AnalyticsAdditional Desirable Skills :
