About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with strong expertise in forecasting systems, operational research, and applied machine learning.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building, deploying, and optimizing models in the AWS cloud environment, with a focus on time series forecasting and demand capacity planning.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and implement forecasting systems to improve demand prediction and operational capacity planning.
- Apply theoretical models and transform them into practical, real-world solutions.
- Perform data analysis, feature engineering, and statistical modeling to extract insights and improve model accuracy.
- Build, deploy, monitor, and update models in AWS using Amazon SageMaker pipelines, Docker containers, and other cloud-native tools.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and prepare data using SQL and Python.
- Leverage machine learning, statistical modeling, and optimization techniques to solve business problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and operations to integrate models into production systems.
- Continuously improve models by monitoring performance and tuning parameters.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in forecasting systems and operational research.3+ years of hands-on experience with SQL and Python (scripting & data manipulation).3+ years of experience in machine learning / statistical modeling techniques and understanding of performance metrics.3+ years of experience with AWS cloud services, including deploying end-to-end ML products.Practical experience using Amazon SageMaker pipelines and Docker containers.Strong understanding of demand forecasting and its impact on operational capacity planning.Knowledge of time series models and deep learning techniques for time series (e.g., LSTMs, Transformers) is a strong asset.Proven ability to apply theoretical models in real-world applications.Preferred Skills :
Advanced degree (Masters / PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.Exposure to operational research optimization techniques (linear programming, simulation, etc.Familiarity with big data tools such as Spark or Hadoop.(ref : hirist.tech)
