JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Regal Rexnord is seeking an experienced and customer focused Application Engineering professional with a mechanical engineering background to support India distributors, OEMs and local customers.

This position shall support primarily in Application Engineering activities like customer inquiry/orders/offer support, product selection/interchanges, onsite technical assistance, product installation support, product trainings and assisting the customers in troubleshooting their application challenges.

Major Responsibilities:

• On site or remote bearing product and application training to distributors, OEM and local customers
• On site visit to give support for specific applications / product installation/ Address the Issues
• Preparation of technical documentation: drawings, data sheets
• Bearing calculations based on the customer bearing application information
• Returned bearings management: Failure analysis and claim reports
• Capture VOC in the form of technical requirements and market trends to provide inputs for new products development
• Obtain customer’s product approvals in line with application proposals, product drawings, sample submitted and completed sample testing’s.
• To represent Regal Rexnord products and services at customers and institutions through visits, presentations, seminars, Exhibitions and fairs.
• Coordinate with vendors to build prototypes, test fixtures and production tooling’s.
• Perform competitive and intellectual property landscape study for bearing and chain products.
• Assist in the competitor benchmarking test plan creation and development of new/modified/improved technologies aimed at bearings and chain products.
• Monthly activity reporting to the Business Unit AE teams.
• Prepare and maintain up to date engineering documentation related to catalogs, brochures, industry specific presentations, product mapping study.

Required Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a reputed college. Master’s degree in mechanical engineering is a plus.
• 4+ years of Application Engineering experience with field applications support knowledge and being customer focused.
• Excellent knowledge of bearing product applications will be preferred. Experience in a global/multinational company is preferable.
• Sound knowledge of product engineering, engineering standards and design tools will be preferred.
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications including GD&T, material standards, Industry standards like AGMA, API, ANSI, ISO etc.
• Exposure to Manufacturing process like casting, forging, sheet metals, machining processes / Assembly process etc.
• Proficient in creating drawings and models using any of the CAD software like SolidWorks, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent planning and execution skills.
• Strong interpersonal skill, Team player and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision and with sense of urgency.
• Strong Analytical Skills, Decision Making, Critical Thinking.

Travel: Regional or global, less than 40%.

Language: Primarily English. Other Indian, European or Asian languages could be beneficial to work with people from those regions on any of the projects.
