Application Support Engineer
6-month contract, up to $900 per day (incl super)
Sydney CBD, Hybrid working (3 days in office)
Tired of constant alerts that don’t matter? Frustrated that incidents take too long to resolve? Here, you’ll own the bridge between development and operations, shaping how core banking platforms run and how to respond when things go wrong.
You’ll work closely with developers and product teams before new features go live, set up runbooks, dashboards, and alerts that actually make sense. When incidents happen, you’ll lead the response and run blameless post-mortems, helping reduce MTTR and the noise that slows everyone down.
You’ll also get a chance to work with AI systems in production, learning how they behave in real time, building monitoring and alerting strategies, and defining support for next-gen banking features.
You should consider this if you :
Have hands-on experience supporting Java applications in production.
Know your way around cloud platforms, containers, and monitoring tools like Dynatrace or Sumologic.
Are comfortable running incidents, coordinating across teams, and driving solutions.
