Manager / Associate Manager – BESS Technical Services Location : Bengaluru, India

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced BESS Techno-Commercial Manager to support ACWA Power’s fast-growing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) portfolio.

You’ll work at the intersection of technology, commercial strategy, and business development — helping shape bids, optimize project configurations, and drive financial closings for world-class clean energy projects.

What You’ll Do

You will act as a key link between the CIO organization, Technical Services, Business Development, and EPC partners , ensuring technical and commercial excellence across all BESS initiatives.

Your day-to-day work will include :

1. Bid & Project Support

Lead techno-commercial input for BESS bids and proposals

Support risk & opportunity assessments, RFQ / RFP reviews, and dispatch analyses

Optimize project technical configurations and energy mix models

Review and contribute to key project documents — including PPA, EPC, O&M, ICA, and LLA agreements

Coordinate EPC strategy, contractor selection, and performance guarantees

Evaluate BESS product qualifications and benchmarking of EPC commercial proposals

2. Project Closing & Delivery

Support project financial close activities, including clarifications with lenders, partners, and clients

Collaborate on due diligence for brownfield asset acquisitions

Ensure smooth project handover to Portfolio Management and Operations teams

Contribute to successful project commissioning by aligning technical deliverables

3. Stakeholder Management

Build strong relationships with EPCs, OEMs, advisors, and internal teams

Stay ahead of BESS market dynamics and emerging technologies

What You’ll Bring

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)

Experience : 8–11 years in EPC project development, BESS, or energy storage

Expertise in :

BESS techno-commercial structuring & simulation

Energy mix modeling and system optimization

BESS codes, standards, and FPS system design

Contract negotiation and EPC commercial analysis

Industry knowledge : Power generation, EPC contracting, and IPP project environments

Skills :

Strong technical and commercial acumen

Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability

High attention to detail, proactive mindset, and flexibility to travel

Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
