Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Backend Developer with expert proficiency in Python and the Django framework.

You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our highly scalable and secure backend services and APIs.

This role requires strong architectural skills, a commitment to quality code, and the ability to mentor junior team members.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design & Development : Architect, develop, and deploy highly scalable and robust backend systems and microservices using Python and the Django framework (including Django REST Framework).
  • API Management : Design and implement high-performance, well-documented RESTful APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations.
  • Database Expertise : Design efficient database schemas (SQL / NoSQL) and perform advanced query optimization for high-traffic applications.
  • Code Quality & Review : Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure the technical quality, security, and maintainability of the codebase.
  • Performance Optimization : Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks, ensuring low-latency operations for all backend services.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Managers, Front-end Developers, and DevOps, to define technical requirements and deliver features.
  • Mentorship : Provide technical guidance, leadership, and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Must-Have Skills (Hard Skills) :

  • Python : Expert proficiency in Python (3.x) and its core concepts.
  • Web Framework : 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Django framework, including Django ORM and Django REST Framework (DRF).
  • Databases : Strong expertise in PostgreSQL or MySQL, including advanced SQL, schema design, and query optimization.
  • APIs : Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and understanding of API security best practices.
  • Version Control : Expert use of Git and standard branching workflows.

    • Good-to-Have Skills (Preferred) :

  • Experience with other Python web frameworks (e.g., Flask, FastAPI).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with asynchronous programming in Python (e.g., Celery, asyncio).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with CI / CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
