A fast-growing engineering and technology group is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its Electronics, Embedded Systems, and Smart Products Division . The role focuses on developing safety-critical products for Railways, Defence, and Industrial IoT sectors.
This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for technology strategy, product architecture, R&D excellence, and end-to-end product delivery across hardware, firmware, and smart systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Technology Leadership
- Define and execute long-term technology roadmap across Electronics, Embedded Systems, and Smart Devices.
- Build next-generation solutions in Railway Electronics, Defence Electronics, IoT, and Safety-Critical Systems .
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies in AI, edge computing, cybersecurity, embedded platforms , and industrial automation.
Product Development & R&D
Lead end-to-end product lifecycle : concept → design → prototyping → testing → certification → deployment.Oversee development of railway signalling electronics, onboard control systems, defence-grade components, sensors, and IoT hardware.Ensure products meet standards such as RDSO, SIL4, CENELEC, EN5012x, ISO, and MIL-STD .Systems Engineering & Architecture
Architect integrated solutions combining hardware, firmware, software, and cloud / edge platforms .Drive innovation in embedded electronics, PCB design, sensors, communication protocols, and safety systems .Lead system integration for multi-domain engineering products.Team Leadership
Build and lead a high-performance R&D and engineering organization.Mentor engineers across hardware, firmware, embedded systems, testing, and systems engineering.Foster an innovation-driven culture with disciplined engineering governance.Stakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement
Collaborate with customers, certification bodies, R&D institutions, government agencies, and technology partners.Support business teams in solutioning, proposals, and customer technical discussions.Required Qualifications
Education
B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation / MechatronicsPreferred : M.Tech or MBA in Technology Leadership or R&D ManagementExperience
15–25+ years in Electronics R&D, Embedded Systems, Safety-Critical Engineering, or Industrial IoTProven leadership in Railway Electronics, Defence Electronics, Automotive / Industrial Embedded Systems, or Smart DevicesStrong knowledge of RDSO, SIL4, MIL-STD, EN5012x , and relevant certificationsExperience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams in product companiesKey Competencies
