Job descriptionCoordinate inbound and outbound shipments of materials, subassemblies, and systems. Liaise with logistics providers to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with defence / military logistics protocols . Track inventory movement and documentation to support audit and traceability requirements. Support export / import processes in line with Indian regulations (DPIIT, DGFT, customs). Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Supply Chain Management (or related field). 5+ years' experience in procurement, vendor development, or supply chain roles in aerospace / defence / manufacturing. Strong knowledge of local machining and fabrication ecosystem and India's broader defence supplier base. Proven ability to source and negotiate for precision machining, electronics components, and electromechanical assemblies . Familiarity with logistics processes including customs, defence compliance, and export-import documentation. Excellent vendor management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Job Description : Supply Chain Manager – Defence & Aerospace
Location : Pune, India

Altair Infrasec is building cutting-edge solutions in unmanned systems, aerospace, and defence technologies. We are seeking a Purchase & Vendor Development Specialist with deep knowledge of India's defence supplier ecosystem. This hybrid role focuses primarily on purchasing and vendor identification with additional responsibilities in logistics and material movement .
Key Responsibilities :
Purchasing & Vendor Development (80%)
- Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers across precision machining, electromechanical systems, and electronics components .
- Map and expand Altair's supply chain ecosystem across India's defence industry .
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers while ensuring quality, delivery, and compliance with AS9100 / MIL standards.
- Develop vendor evaluation frameworks and maintain supplier performance metrics.
- Work closely with engineering and program management teams to align procurement with project requirements.
