Job Title : Senior DBA Consultant

Work Location : Bangalore / Kolkata

Work Experience : 8 to 12 years

Job Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Write, review, and optimize SQL and PL / SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures for performance.

Conduct database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting to resolve bottlenecks.

Collaborate with application developers to design efficient database solutions and ensure best practices in data modeling.

Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Monitor database performance, capacity planning, and proactively identify areas for improvement.

Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and security standards.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and development teams.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications and projects

Required Skills

Strong expertise in PostgreSQL database administration and development.

Proficiency in SQL and PL / SQL with hands-on experience in writing complex queries.

Proven experience in query tuning and performance optimization.

Familiarity with database backup, recovery, high availability, and replication techniques.

Ability to collaborate with developers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver optimized database solutions.

Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.

Nice to Have

Exposure to Oracle database administration.

Experience working in cloud environments (AWS RDS, Azure, GCP) with PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of automation scripts (Python, Shell, Ansible) for DBA tasks.
