We are hiring Manager EC Shed for our client leading poultry industries.
Experience : - ABOVE 10 YEARS
A successful EC shed manager on a poultry farm should have a strong understanding of
poultry management, environmental control systems, and biosecurity practices. They
will oversee daily operations, ensure optimal bird health, manage staff, and maintain the
integrity of the EC shed. Their responsibilities also include monitoring key performance
indicators, adhering to regulations, and collaborating with other teams to ensure farm
efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities : -
Monitoring and maintaining optimal temperature, humidity, and ventilation within
the poultry shed using various systems like fans, curtains, and cooling pads and
airflow
Ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene practices to prevent disease outbreaks
and maintain a clean environment.
Implementing and maintaining biosecurity protocols to prevent the introduction
of diseases and pathogens.
Oversee all aspects of daily operations within the EC shed, including feeding,
watering, temperature and humidity control, and ventilation. Address any
issues.
Monitor bird health, identify any issues, and implement appropriate corrective
actions. This includes observing bird behaviour, assessing body weight, and
conducting disease prevention measures.
Supervise and train shed staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable in their roles
and adhere to safety protocols.
Ensure the shed and its equipment is well-maintained and functional.
Ensuring that all equipment, such as feeders, drinkers, and ventilation systems,
are functioning correctly.
Maintain accurate records of bird health, feed consumption, and mortality rates.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to poultry
farming.
Maintaining the physical structure of the shed, including repairs to walls, floors,
and equipment.
Maintaining records of feed, medication, and other supplies used in the poultry
shed.
Ensuring that adequate supplies are available at all times.
Reporting any concerns or issues to the farm manager or other relevant
personnel.
Skills and Qualifications :
Experience in poultry farming, particularly in managing poultry sheds and environmental
control systems.
Knowledge of biosecurity protocols and disease prevention measures.
Ability to operate and maintain poultry shed equipment and systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially if supervising staff.
Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle physical labour and operate farm equipment.
Diploma or equivalent is typically required, with an associate's degree or higher in
animal science or a related field being beneficial
