The Wholesale Banking Products Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join the Fund Services segment as a Senior Manager, Fund Accounting.
This niche segment focuses on providing critical Fund Accounting services for sophisticated domestic clients, including Portfolio Managers (PMS), Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), Mutual Funds (MF), and Insurance funds, operating both within India and the Gujarat International Financial Tec-City (GIFT).
This role is responsible for the rigorous execution and management of the daily fund accounting operations, ensuring absolute accuracy, strict regulatory compliance, and exceptional client service delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess deep operational and regulatory knowledge in fund accounting and a proven track record of managing complex workflows and stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities :
- Net Asset Value (NAV) Production and Dissemination : Oversee and execute the complete daily cycle of NAV calculation and dissemination for multiple Mutual Fund and Insurance Fund schemes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., SEBI, IRDAI).
- Fund Accounting Operations Management : Manage daily transactional activities, which are inclusive and not exhaustive, covering :
- Capital Accounting (subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions).
- Trade Processing (settlement, corporate actions processing).
- Income and Expense Accounting (interest accruals, amortization, fee calculations).
- Reconciliations of cash, portfolio, and sub-ledger data.
- Calculation of distributable surplus, equalization, and capital gain / loss.
- Client and Regulatory Reporting : Ensure the complete and accurate preparation and delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly client reporting as stipulated in Service Level Agreements (SLAs), alongside timely and compliant submission of all relevant regulatory reports.
- Regulatory Compliance and Monitoring : Actively monitor and ensure the seamless implementation of all relevant regulatory changes pertaining to fund accounting and operations for all serviced schemes (MF, Insurance, PMS, AIF).
- Stakeholder Management and Audit Handling : Serve as the primary operational point of contact for clients, handling all regular and ad-hoc requirements, operational concerns, and effectively liaising with internal stakeholders (e.g., Treasury, Operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., custodians, auditors).
- System Enhancement and Digital Adoption : Actively participate in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system testing for enhancements to fund accounting platforms or the adoption of new digital solutions to drive operational efficiencies and modernization.
- Risk Management and Escalation : Proactively manage the day-to-day operations to mitigate operational risks, handle escalations effectively, and ensure a consistently high Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) for the assigned clients.
- MIS Reporting : Prepare and present various Management Information System (MIS) reports to senior management, providing actionable insights into operational performance, scheme variances, and regulatory compliance status.
Required Skills :
3 to 9 Years of direct, relevant experience in Fund Accounting operations for Mutual Funds, Insurance Funds, Portfolio Managers (PMS), or Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs).In-depth, working knowledge of NAV Calculations methodologies, fund valuation principles, and the entire fund accounting cycle.Strong operational understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEBI, IRDAI) governing Indian and GIFT City fund structures.Proven expertise in handling complex daily activities including corporate action benefits, income / expense accruals, and capital gain / loss calculations.Demonstrated ability to manage client deliverables and meet strict SLA requirements and regulatory deadlines.Experience with audit handling and providing detailed data / documentation to internal and external auditors.Proficiency in using a core fund accounting system / platform.Post Graduate (PG / Master) education, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related technical field.Preferred Skills :
Experience with fund accounting for Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), particularly understanding their unique capital call and distribution mechanisms.Direct experience with digital adoption or system migration projects within a fund services or wholesale banking environment.Familiarity with the operations and regulatory nuances of the Gujarat International Financial Tec-City (GIFT) framework.Advanced proficiency in MS Excel / VBA for complex data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting automation.Strong understanding of Wholesale Banking products like CMS, Trade Finance, and Custody and how they interface with fund services operations(ref : iimjobs.com)
