Using your experience and knowledge, you will be leading the delivery of a variety of projects drawing upon the wider team for the technical engineering requirements and building a strong relationship with our clientsYou will be client-facing, responsible for the delivery of our work and making sure it meets our clients expectationsYou Will Be Taking Up The Following ResponsibilitiesExperience of undertaking FEED or Detailed design of HV and EHV (132kV to 765kV) AIS & GIS SubstationsHands on experience in preparation of detailed primary deliverables / drawings such as Single Line Diagram, Layout, Elevation, Clearance diagram, Erection key diagram, Control room building layouts, Cable trench details and layouts, Cable routing layouts etc Hands on experience in preparation of BOQs, Specifications and Data sheets for Primary EquipmentsHands on Experience in design calculations such as equipment sizing calculations, selection of Primary equipments, Bus bar sizing, short circuit force Calculations, Heat loading Calculations, Earthing and Lightning Protection assessments with calculations and relevant drawings, HV Cable Sizing, Auxiliary system design etc Support and solve queries during construction, testing and commissioning, attend site meetings and inspectionsReport Writing SkillsPreparation of bid documents and bid evaluationsEnsure interdisciplinary coordinationContribute to Tendering activities by supporting with preliminary design documentation & drawings, Bill of Quantities, Engineering Man Hour Estimates etc Lead HV Plant design and mentor junior engineers and graduate engineersProvide engineering support and solve queries during construction, testing and commissioning, attend site meetings and inspectionsRequirementsGraduate / Post-Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with around 15 years of relevant experience in HV and EHV Substation design and engineeringAbility to produce design documentation Design Basis Report, Case Studies and Project Design SpecificationBe competent to check the design drawings & documents produced by other engineersMember of IET & working towards Chartered Engineer accreditationExperience of working UK National Grid / SSEN substation projectsDesirable Meet the requirements of National Grid, UK accreditation such as BP141, CDAE etc Experience as Commissioning engineer will be added advantageHVDC design experience (optional)OHL design experience(optional)HV Cable design experience(optional)Experience of Working Groups and Technical committees such as CIGRE, IEC, AS, BS, IS and IEEETravel to Substation sites may be requiredBehavioural RequirementsStrong English Communication Skills needed to co-ordinate with client and other internal stake holdersBe a part of the team which is working at different geographical locations and co-ordinate for the needs of the projectFlexibility to travel to client sites when requiredCapability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriatelyTo provide support and advice to members the team, this may also include line management responsibilitiesAtkinsRalis focus is on developing our staff to realise their full potential, with development plans geared to individual needs and abilitiesSoftware & Design ToolsCYMCAPFURSECDEGSMS OfficeAuto CADYou will also be expected to demonstrate the following qualities :Professional approachStrong communication skills, written and verbalCommercial awarenessTeam working, being comfortable working in international teamsSkills Required
