We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of key Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) components for space applications. You'll take designs from concept through manufacturing, testing, and flight, ensuring high performance and reliability in extreme environments.
What You'll Do
Design & DevelopmentOwn the end-to-end mechanical design of satellite components and sub-systems, including packaging, structural analysis, manufacturing, and testing.Use first-principles thinking to drive data-backed design decisions and ensure efficient assembly / testing processes.Optimize production methods to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation following NASA / MIL / ISO standards.Apply GD&T to generate cost-effective, high-quality parts.Work on optomechanical design.
Testing & ManufacturingLead structural, vibration, and shock testing to validate component reliability.Support test planning, qualification campaigns, debugging, and root cause analysis.Work hands-on with flight and test hardware to troubleshoot and refine designs.Oversee component fabrication, ensuring alignment with performance requirements.Manage vendor relationships to meet stringent space-grade survival and performance criteria.
Collaboration & Technical LeadershipLead technical reviews and design gates, presenting concepts and results to stakeholders.Work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
What You Bring5+ years of experience in mechanical design for satellites or space systems, from requirements definition to manufacturing and testing.Proficiency in CAD software and PLM tools.Strong expertise in structural analysis, GD&T, and aerospace manufacturing processes.Experience in dynamic hardware builds, vibration, and shock testing.Hands-on experience with machining and fabrication techniques.Background in opto-mechanical systems is a plus!
Additional RequirementsWilling to work extended hours and weekends when needed. This is an on-site position only. The role is based in Bangalore, India.
