The PYP Homeroom Teacher plays a central role in creating a stimulating, inquiry-based, and concept-driven learning environment that nurtures the intellectual, emotional, and social growth of students. Guided by the IB Primary Years Programme philosophy, the teacher facilitates transdisciplinary learning that integrates language, mathematics, science, and social studies while fostering the development of learner agency, international-mindedness, and essential life skills. Collaboration with students, colleagues, and parents is key to providing meaningful, personalized learning experiences that reflect the school’s vision and core values.
Plan and facilitate engaging transdisciplinary units of inquiry aligned with the IB PYP framework and school curriculum goals.
Incorporate student voice, choice, and ownership in daily learning experiences to promote agency and self-directed learning.
Design differentiated learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles, interests, and abilities within the classroom.
Integrate technology, art, music, and real-world connections into lessons to enhance understanding and creativity.
Observe, assess, and document student learning through formative and summative assessments using IB-aligned tools and criteria.
Collaborate regularly with grade-level and specialist teachers to plan, reflect, and ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
Maintain clear, positive, and professional communication with parents through meetings, reports, and regular classroom updates.
Support the inclusion of students with special learning needs in partnership with the SEN department.
Actively engage in professional development opportunities and IB training to enhance teaching and learning practices.
Participate in school events, assemblies, exhibitions, and other community-building initiatives that enrich student experiences
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in an IB PYP or inquiry-based learning environment.
Demonstrated expertise in designing and facilitating transdisciplinary learning experiences.
Proficiency in student-centered teaching, formative assessment strategies, and reflective practices.
Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills.
