Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced PERL Developer with strong expertise in application code conversion and integration. The role primarily involves migrating applications from Sybase to MS SQL, ensuring compatibility, and modernizing legacy code. While PERL expertise is critical, knowledge of Python is also required as the team is progressively moving towards Python for long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop, maintain, and optimize application code using PERL with integration into SQL Server (T-SQL).
Perform application code conversion from Sybase to MS SQL.
Where feasible, migrate PERL codebases to Python, ensuring compatibility and maintainability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth migration and system stability.
Implement and follow best practices in version control (Git) and release management.
(Nice to have) Configure and monitor alerting / monitoring tools to ensure application health.
(Nice to have) Work with automation tools to streamline processes and improve productivity.

Required Skills & Experience :

Strong hands-on experience in PERL development.

Good working knowledge of Python for code migration and future sustainability.

Proficiency in T-SQL / SQL Server development and data handling.

Familiarity with ADO, Git, and release management practices.

Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization skills.
