Overview :
The Zonal Collections Manager will play a pivotal leadership role in overseeing and optimizing the companys collections operations across a defined geographic zone. This position is responsible for ensuring timely recoveries, maintaining portfolio health, and upholding customer trust through ethical, transparent, and efficient collection practices.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic acumen with ground-level execution, leading a diverse team of collection executives, fostering accountability, and driving performance excellence across all recovery channels.
Key Collection Management :
- Develop, implement, and monitor robust zone-level collection strategies to ensure achievement of monthly and quarterly recovery targets.
Team Leadership & Development :
Lead, train, and motivate field collection teams to ensure operational excellence and adherence to compliance standards.Performance Monitoring :
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including collection efficiency, delinquency trends, and non-performing asset (NPA) ratios.Portfolio Optimization :
Analyze collection data to identify at-risk accounts, design action plans for early intervention, and reduce overall delinquency.Field Operations & Recovery Oversight :
Conduct periodic field visits to assess on-ground realities, support recovery efforts, and ensure team alignment with company protocols.Stakeholder Collaboration :
Liaise with internal departments such as credit, operations, and compliance to address collection challenges and streamline workflows.Regulatory & Ethical Compliance :
Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, company policies, and fair recovery practices while maintaining the highest ethical standards.Reporting & Analytics :
Prepare zone-level MIS reports, dashboards, and recovery summaries for senior management review.Required Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field; an MBA / PGDM is preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in collections, recovery, or credit operations within NBFCs, MFIs, or rural lending institutions.Proven expertise in debt recovery mechanisms, collection analytics, and field-level collection strategies.Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in training and mentoring field teams.Proficiency in data management tools, MIS reporting, and recovery performance analysis.Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English; proficiency in regional dialects will be an advantage.Deep understanding of rural financial systems, socio-economic dynamics, and borrower behavior.(ref : iimjobs.com)
