Job Overview

To lead the EHS function at the Turbhe peptides manufacturing site, ensuring full compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements, implementing a robust EHMS (Environment, Health & Safety Management System), and driving a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence in alignment with Piramal Pharma's EHS vision.

Experience

Min 10 Years with relevant industry.

Roles And Responsibilities

• EHS Compliance & Statutory Obligations
• Ensure 100% compliance with applicable central and state EHS regulations – Factories Act, EPA, Water / Air Acts, Hazardous Waste Rules, and others.
• Maintain all EHS-related documentation, licenses, and statutory records per audit and legal requirements.
• EHMS Implementation & Monitoring
• Implement and maintain an effective Environment, Health & Safety Management System (EHMS) aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Conduct Management Reviews and support Corporate EHS audits and global compliance assessments.
• Safety Leadership & Risk Management
• Conduct risk assessments safety inspections and job safety analysis across the facility.
• Investigate incidents and near misses using root cause analysis (RCA) tools and drive CAPA implementation.
• Ensure 100% adherence to Permit to Work (PTW), PPE compliance, and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) systems.
• Occupational Health & Emergency Preparedness
• Conduct mock drills, emergency response training, and first aid programs in line with site risk profile.
• Oversee industrial hygiene programs, noise monitoring, and employee health surveillance in coordination with OHC.
• Lead ERT (Emergency Response Team) and Safety Committee activities as per statutory norms.
• Environmental Management & Sustainability
• Drive initiatives for water, air, and waste management in compliance with MPCB norms.
• Monitor and report ETP / STP performance and stack emissions.
• Support Piramal's corporate ESG goals.
• People Development & Safety Culture
• Conduct EHS onboarding, behavioral safety training, toolbox talks, and refresher programs for employees and contract workforce.
• Champion site-wide EHS campaigns (e.g., National Safety Week, Environment Day) to build a proactive safety culture.
• Act as a change agent for continuous improvement through visual management, Kaizens, and employee engagement.

Competencies

Qualifications

B.E. / B.Tech (Chemical / Environmental) / Graduate in Environment Science + Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized by State Government)
