Job Title : General Manager - Operations (Manufacturing)

Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven GM - Operations (Manufacturing) for our automobile manufacturing plant. The role will be responsible for leading end-to-end plant operations, driving operational efficiency, and delivering manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in inventory management, quality management systems (QMS), P&L control, cost center management, and Eight Control methodologies.
Key Responsibilities :
Operational Leadership
- Lead, plan, and execute overall plant operations to meet production, quality, safety, and cost targets.
- Drive operational excellence by implementing best manufacturing practices.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and EHS.
Inventory Management
Ensure effective inventory planning, control, and optimization.Minimize working capital by streamlining inventory and material management processes.Implement inventory accuracy programs and conduct regular audits.Quality Management System (QMS)
Ensure adherence to ISO / TS16949, IATF, and other relevant automotive quality standards.Drive continuous improvement programs (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma) to enhance quality performance.Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to address quality issues.P&L and Cost Control
Manage the plant's P&L and ensure achievement of financial targets.Control and optimize manufacturing costs, overheads, and budgets.Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality.Cost Center Management
Oversee cost center planning, budgeting, and variance analysis.Review and control departmental budgets and resource allocations.Drive accountability for cost control across departments.Eight Control (8C / 8D Problem Solving)
Implement Eight Control methodologies for problem identification and resolution.Lead cross-functional teams in structured problem-solving activities.Monitor corrective and preventive actions for effectiveness.Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Automobile / Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).20+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations within the automobile or auto component industry.Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and modern manufacturing systems.Proven track record of managing plant P&L, cost centers, and large operational teams.Expertise in inventory management, QMS implementation, and structured problem-solving.Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skillsSkills Required
