Key Responsibilities This role is responsible for key aspects of GAAP revenue recognition, reporting, compliance, and analytics. The Senior Associate will take a lead role in analyzing large and complex data sets, developing reporting tools, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results. Prepare month-end journal entries, account reconciliations in the areas of treasury, accounts receivables, and revenue in compliance with GAAP accounting and company policies. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by performing variance analyses and interpretations of Chargebee’s key financial metrics. This involves ability to extract, validate, and analyze large revenue data sets to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities. Drive process enhancements to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of revenue accounting and reporting for month-end close files. This might include advanced Excel, AI, and BI tools (GBT’s, Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar). Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to align operational activities with financial outcomes. Support in org-wide projects like ERP transformations, systems integrations and automation / efficiency initiatives. This includes the development of requirements for key functionalities in our own Chargebee revenue and AR subledger systems. Assist in performing the required tasks related to audit coordination including preparing and providing the auditors with the required supporting documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, legal, and financial planning & analysis, to ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies, effective management reporting and proper documentation. Prepare and Present findings and insights to the senior management as part of period close meetings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Chartered Accountant (CA) designation required and experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm. 2-4 years of progressive accounting or financial data analysis experience, with a focus on revenue recognition preferred. Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex modeling) and experience working with large data sets. Experience with ERP systems (e.G., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), BI / reporting tools (e.G. Tableau, Power BI, Looker), and AI tools (e.G. ChatGBT, Gemini) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead initiatives, and deliver results under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial and analytical insights to senior stakeholders. Success Metrics : Revenue Recognition Compliance : Revenue recognition is a complex area of accounting that is particularly important for subscription-based businesses. As a revenue accountant, you can ensure that the company is following the appropriate revenue recognition policies and procedures to comply with ASC 606. Timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting : As a revenue accountant, you play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's financial statements are accurate and timely.
