SR. Development Engineer

Role Purpose

Development & Design of automotive Exterior TRIMS

Responsibilities / Task

Key Responsibilities with brief description according to priority

• Development & design know how of Exterior parts / products like Bumper systems (Fascia), Body claddings, FEM, Plenum / Cowl Cover, Pillar Trims, Batches / Logo, Decal, Roof Rack, claddings & Spoilers
• Initial Technical Evaluation of Suppliers and support during nominations.
• Conducting and reviewing TKO's and collaborating with Cross functional teams during Sign-off of multiple requirements.
• APQP / PPAP & PFMEA : Know-how of phases and ability to create, review and participate.
• PV Testing & Proto Support : Support prototype builds activities, conduct design reviews, address engineering changes based on physical testing and team feedback to verify performance and quality.
• Production Tryouts : Cross-functional Collaboration with Desing, manufacturing, QA, SQA & Supplier to meet cost & project timelines & support during Production Tryout
• Analyze design feasibility considering manufacturing processes, tooling constraints, Mold flow reports and coordinate with supplier accordingly.
• Supplier Management : Engage with suppliers to ensure deliverables meet quality, timing, and cost targets, supporting purchasing, costing and supply chain teams as required.
• Candidate should have executed at least couple of Development Exterior engineering projects throughout the product lifecycle.
• Risk Management : Identify and mitigate risks related to design, manufacturing, and program timelines, escalating issues as needed.
• Having 7-10 years of experience in development of key products like Front & Rear Bumpers and other exterior components
• Strong communication skills to analyse and deal with critical events during product development cycle
