Position Overview :
The Platform and Data team is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to join our Data View team in Bangalore.
The ideal candidate is a highly skilled backend developer with deep experience in Python and public cloud deployment, passionate about building scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions.
The Data View product enables customers to access raw and transformed healthcare data for analytics and integration.
This team works with a Snowflake-based Data Lake updated via Oracle Golden Gate pipelines and collaborates closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality backend services and software solutions using Python, adhering to best practices in cloud architecture (HA / DR, scalability, performance, security).
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines, including ETL / ELT processes, for large-scale healthcare datasets.
- Write comprehensive unit, functional, and integration tests to ensure high code quality and reliability.
- Participate actively in code reviews, ensuring adherence to organizational coding standards and best practices.
- Implement and maintain data models and workflows for Snowflake and other data warehouses, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, architects, data engineers, and data scientists to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Document technical designs, processes, and APIs to maintain organizational knowledge and support operational excellence.
- Continuously explore, learn, and adopt new technologies and best practices to improve the platform and services.
Required Qualifications :
Experience : 5 to 9 years in software engineering, with progressive experience in backend development and cloud deployment.Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.Technical Skills :
Strong proficiency in Python (or similar modern programming languages such as Java).Hands-on experience with SQL databases, query optimization, and database performance tuning.Experience with Unix / Linux environments.Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Hadoop, or similar).Familiarity with Postgres internals is a strong advantage.Experience in deploying and maintaining services in a public cloud environment (AWS preferred).Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.(ref : hirist.tech)
