We invite applications from experienced practitioners for faculty positions in Rural Livelihoods to be part of the School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre (SCE-URC).
Locations : Ranchi, Guwahati and Bengaluru
The School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre (SCE-URC) is responsible for in-service programmes in the domains of education, development and professional skills.
The SCE-URC aims to significantly enhance the capacity of the development ecosystem, which comprises of elected representatives, government functionaries, and civil society at large. Its primary role is to build perspectives, competencies and practical skills, which are relevant to different sets of stakeholders across all levels. Programmes will be offered across all thematic areas of human and social development.
Responsibilities :
- Design Stage : Design, develop, and deliver high-quality training programmes based on stakeholder needs. Collaborate with experts and teams to co-create effective learning experiences. Customise, curate, and enhance learning materials to align with objectives. Develop curriculum outlines, session plans, and implementation strategies.
- Training Stage : Orient visiting faculty and organisational leaders on the purpose of the course. Lead capacity-building for participants and foster a community of practice, as required.
- Ongoing Monitoring : Monitor content effectiveness and address gaps for continuous improvement. Ensure timely availability and submission of participant data and training reports.
- Build New Courses : Be part of conversations and initiate processes to assess capacity needs of different stakeholders. Over time, build a portfolio of offerings that respond to the emerging needs of stakeholders.
- Others : Contribute to other programmes related to wider capacity development needs of stakeholders.
Requirements :
Master's degree, preferably in Rural Development / Social Work or related disciplinesAt least eight to ten years of experience in training, capacity building, curriculum development, learning experience design, and implementation support for farm-based rural livelihoods programmes.Ability to design and develop curriculum / material in English and Hindi and conduct short courses in English and Hindi for frontline functionaries of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) working on rural livelihoods (Farming and / or Non-Farming).Ability to reflect and think critically.Good oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi.Willingness to travel extensively and work collaboratively and in teams.Desirable :
Practical experience in working on agriculture package of practices (food crops and high value commercial crops), integrated disease and pest management (especially non-pesticide management), sustainable agriculture practices, animal husbandry, agro-forestry and Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP).Practical experience of working on agro-based sub-sector value chain, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), and relevant experiences in the non-farming sector.Prior experience in training and capacity building, curriculum development, learning experience design, implementation support for non-farming based rural livelihoods programmes.Strong network within Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) across India.Experience of working with Government departments and functionaries.Application Procedure :
