Quality Assurance Engineer - Manual / Automation Testing

Job descriptionCollaborate with developers, SDETs, and product teams to understand requirements and design effective test strategies ensuring comprehensive coverage. Perform manual testing across functional, regression, integration, and system-level scenarios. Contribute to and maintain automation test suites for APIs, backend systems, and UI flows. Execute API testing (functional, negative, security, and contract validation) using tools like Postman, RestAssured, Swagger / OpenAPI. Validate database changes (Azure SQL, Informix) including schema / versioning with tools such as Liquibase. Integrate automated tests into CI / CD workflows (Concord, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent). Track, report, and drive defects to closure while ensuring high quality across releases. Participate in Agile ceremonies and promote shift-left testing practices. Proven experience in manual testing for functional, regression, integration, and system testing. Strong hands-on experience with API Testing (Postman, RestAssured, Swagger / OpenAPI validation). In-depth understanding of test case design, execution, and defect lifecycle. Strong knowledge of Azure SQL or other RDBMS. Basic experience with Informix DB. Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation, schema verification, and debugging. Familiarity with automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, or Cucumber). Exposure to CI / CD pipelines (Concord, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Skills (Preferred, not Mandatory) : Familiarity with monitoring / observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenObserve). Understanding of cloud-native environments (WCNP, Docker, Kubernetes basics). Knowledge of security & compliance testing (authentication, authorization, encryption). Experience with performance / load testing tools (JMeter, Gatling). Knowledge of test management tools (Jira, Zephyr, qTest, or similar). Prior exposure to Agile / DevOps environments and shift-left testing Notes for Recruiters : Target QA engineers with both manual + automation skills. API testing and database validation are mandatory eliminators. Strong preference for candidates who have supported Java backend / API-heavy applications. Cloud-native exposure (WCNP, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus, not mandatory. Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale applications with API-heavy backends.
