Role Overview
The Head of SCM will lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory, warehousing, vendor development, and import / export compliance. The role demands strategic thinking, operational excellence, and hands-on leadership to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and alignment with project and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
Develop and implement SCM strategy in alignment with business goals (manufacturing + projects).
Forecast material demand based on project pipeline and production schedules.
Optimize procurement planning to minimize lead time and avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Procurement & Vendor Management
Oversee sourcing, negotiations, and vendor performance for components, raw materials, and services.
Identify alternative suppliers and build a reliable vendor base across geographies.
Ensure adherence to cost, quality, delivery, and compliance standards.
Logistics & Distribution
Manage inbound and outbound logistics for domestic and international shipments.
Optimize freight, courier, and transport operations to reduce delivery TAT and costs.
Coordinate with internal departments for dispatch planning and order fulfillment.
Import / Export Compliance
Handle documentation and procedures for international procurement and exports.
Ensure compliance with Customs, WPC, BIS, and other applicable regulatory authorities.
Liaise with CHA, freight forwarders, and government agencies for smooth clearances.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Monitor inventory levels and implement robust stock control systems (FIFO, min-max).
Oversee warehousing operations for proper storage, packaging, and material handling.
Drive inventory audits, cycle counting, and reconciliation with system records.
Process Improvement & Digitization
Implement SCM tools and SOPs to streamline operations and reporting.
Continuously review and improve processes for better efficiency and visibility.
Develop SCM dashboards and KPIs for performance tracking.
Team Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination
Lead and mentor the SCM, logistics, and warehouse teams.
Collaborate with Production, Project Management, Sales, and Finance teams.
Drive culture of accountability, ownership, and timely execution.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
10–15 years of progressive SCM experience, ideally in electronics manufacturing or project-based industries.
Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs processes, and vendor ecosystems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
