Global Support Database Administrator (DBA) Job Description
Our Global Support DBA will play a crucial role in maintaining and managing our organization's databases during the business' US nighttime hours, ensuring their stability, security, and optimal performance.
Key responsibilities
- Database Management : Monitoring database systems, performing routine maintenance like backups and updates, installing and configuring software, and managing security and user access.
- Troubleshooting and Support : Diagnosing performance issues, responding to urgent incidents or outages during overnight hours, and providing technical support to development teams.
- Documentation and Reporting : Creating documentation and generating reports on database systems.
- Collaboration : Coordinating with US-DBA team and other IT teams.
Essential Skills And Qualifications For This Role Include
Technical Proficiency :Expertise in SqlServer (2019 and 2022) including SSRS, and AzureSqlDBStrong understanding of performance and tuning (locks, blocking, deadlocks and remediations)coding to include general sql, store procedures and powershell, and ssisbackup and recovery processesdatabase security in accordance with least rights methodology.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and make quick decisions.Effective communication and documentation skills.Ability to manage urgent issues.Knowledge of sql monitoring tools and familiarity with Solarwinds / SentryOne is a plusSkills Required
