JD Title : Mainframe z / OS System Programmer – L3 – 7+ years of experience

Title of Position : Mainframe Network Admin

Location : Bangalore, Hyderabad,Chennai,Mumbai,Pune,Indore,Cochin,Delhi,Noida,Kolkata

Summary of key responsibilities

Minimum 7+ years of broad and in-depth hands-on technical and design / architect level experience in Mainframe z / OS

Experience in a multi-site (multiple Data Center) Mainframe shop of minimum 2,000 MIPS and above.

Work with Client / Customer, OEM & ISV Vendors, Business Partners related to all aspects of the Mainframe Platform.

Support various Mainframe Software (both IBM and OEM / ISV products evaluation, High Availability, Disaster Recovery etc.

Derive realistic Mainframe SLAs and design / propose architecture meeting those SLAs goals

Mainframe Licensing, TCO and ROI planning and decision making.

Years of Experience

Minimum 7+ years of hands-on technical and Architect experience on the Mainframe Platform as a whole (HW, SW, NW, OS and Security)

Technical requirements

• Mainframe Data Center Architecture (Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, MGM, 2 / 3 / 4 site GDPS & GDDR)
• Conversant with both IBM and EMC HW and Replication methodology. Hitachi optional.
• Mainframe Data Center Physical Planning and Design
• Experience in IBM z14, z15 & z16 Mainframe HW and Parallel Sysplex / GDPS-GDDR Setup
• Experience in both IBM and EMC Disk and Tape Storage hardware, software and replication.
• z / OS v2.X, JES2 / JES3, DFSMS, SNA / VTAM & TCP / IP, RMF / SMF
• Mainframe Tools–SIEM (Q-Radar), z / OS-SA or CA-OPS / MVS Automation
• Mainframe DB2, MQ, CICS, WAS, Control-M
• Mainframe Security ACF2
• Mainframe Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning
• Experience in Disaster Recovery setup and conducting DR drills.
• Experience in Mainframe MIPS Optimization, Software rationalization
• Hands-on experience with Hitachi VSP 5500, IBM DS8000, IBM TS7000 etc.
• IBM-Metro / Global Mirror, Copy Services, EMC-SRDF, EMC-GDDR
• Flash Copy, BCV-SnapVX, zDP, Safe Guarded Copy (SGC)
• Setup and Manager Mainframe DC Storage Replication
• Mainframe Software Rationalization
• Mainframe Modernization and Exit strategies
• Mainframe Performance Tuning – BP tuning, zIIP, SMT
