Job Summary
The HOD - B.Com (CA) is responsible for managing the departments academic operations, faculty development, curriculum planning, and student progress. The role ensures quality teaching, industry-relevant learning, and smooth departmental administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Leadership
- Plan and coordinate the academic timetable, syllabus coverage, lesson plans, and internal assessments.
- Ensure effective teaching of subjects related to Commerce, Accounting, Computer Applications, and Business Technologies.
- Monitor student performance, attendance, and academic outcomes.
- Conduct faculty meetings, academic reviews, and departmental activities.
- Curriculum & Program Development
- Upgrade curriculum based on industry needs (Tally, Excel, Programming, Digital Tools).
- Introduce workshops, guest lectures, seminars, and value-added courses.
- Coordinate practical sessions, lab activities, and project work.
- Faculty Management
- Guide, support, and evaluate faculty performance.
- Prepare faculty workload, allocate subjects, and maintain discipline.
- Identify training needs and organize FDPs (Faculty Development Programs).
- Student Development
- Mentor students academically and encourage participation in competitions, internships, and placement drives.
- Address student grievances and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Coordinate industrial visits, project presentations, and skill development programs.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain departmental records, accreditation files, and NAAC / NBA documentation.
- Ensure compliance with university norms, academic regulations, and college policies.
- Submit reports to the Principal / Dean on department performance.
- Plan departmental events, annual budgets, and resource requirements.
Eligibility & Qualifications
M.Com / M.Phil / PhD in Commerce, Computer Applications, or related specialization.Minimum 5-10 years of teaching experience with leadership exposure.Strong knowledge in Accounting, Computer Applications, and Business Technologies.Key Skills & Competencies
Academic leadership and team management.Strong communication and classroom management skills.Knowledge of industry-relevant software (Tally, MS Office, Programming basics).Ability to manage workload, deadlines, and student engagement.Skills Required
