Role :
To oversee and manage all aspects of tea estate operations including cultivation, production, labour management, sustainability practices, and compliance, ensuring optimal productivity, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Estate Operations & Agronomy
- Plan, supervise, and implement tea cultivation and production activities.
- Oversee land preparation, planting, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, and pest management.
- Monitor crop health and implement agronomic best practices to maximize yield and quality.
2. Factory Coordination
Coordinate with the factory team for timely plucking, transport, and processing of green leaves.Ensure quality standards are met at every stage from field to factory.3. Team & Labor Management
Lead, train, and supervise estate supervisors, field assistants, and labourers.Maintain high morale, discipline, and productivity among the labour force.Manage seasonal and permanent labourers, including attendance, wages, welfare, and dispute resolution.4. Financial & Administrative Oversight
Prepare and manage estate budgets, expenses, and cost controls.Maintain accurate records of operations, inventory, and reports.Ensure timely reporting to senior management.5. Sustainability & Compliance
Implement sustainable agriculture and environmental management practices.Ensure compliance with health, safety, labour, and statutory regulations.6. Infrastructure & Asset Management
Maintain estate infrastructure including roads, housing, irrigation systems, and machinery.Oversee proper utilization and maintenance of estate assets.Qualifications & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Plantation Management / related field.10+ years of relevant experience in managing a tea estate or similar plantation environment.Strong leadership, planning, and execution skills.Knowledge of tea agronomy, pest and disease control, and plucking cycles.Familiarity with labour laws and local statutory compliance.Ability to lead large teams in remote locations.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Proficient in record-keeping and operational reporting.Tech-savvy with exposure to agricultural tools, machinery, or ERP systems is an advantage.Join us in “Securing a brighter tomorrow” through innovative technology solutions.
