We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power System Engineer to lead and manage complex electrical engineering projects & consulting in the power and energy sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of power systems, relay coordination, single-line diagrams (SLD), system studies, network design, and digital twin modelling. They will guide a team of 5-6 engineers, interface with clients, drive business development, and would have successfully executed similar projects in the past.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership :
- Lead advanced power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, harmonic analysis, Relay Co-ordination study, protection scheme design, Islanding Study, Arc Flash Study, Power evacuation Study. and reactive power compensation
- Guide plant modelling using simulation tools like ETAP, PSCAD, PSSE, Power Factory, or similar software.
- PSSE / PSCAD and PSSE Power system network conversion, modelling and verification :
Utility study for 132 / 220 / 400 / 765kV Grid Substation
Industrial studyMedium voltage & Low Voltage Industrial SystemRenewables (Solar / Wind)Preparation of Main SLD (Single Line Diagram) including selection of primary equipment specificationsDynamic performance studies using both offline and online simulation toolsControl and protection parameters tuning to meet grid stability criteria specified in customer technical specifications.Sub-synchronous oscillation electromagnetic transient simulation studiesSelection of Bus bar configuration & schemeThorough knowledge in areas like Static Var Compensator (Classic or light) & Series compensationSystem as well as product knowledge on SVC and good knowledge base on StatcomReport preparation, explain it to clients, create recommendations, generate Pull Through business through recommendations.Design network configurations and perform sizing calculations for digital twin integration.Execute dynamic performance studies, including synchronous oscillation and electromagnetic transient simulations.Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, IEEE) is highly desirable.Various sizing calculations to prove sufficiency for adopted designSimilar experience in execution will be given more weightageProject Management :
Work with multiple internal (local & global) / external stakeholdersLead a team of 3-5 resources in the beginningIdentifying the customer actual need & promote the solution accordinglyManage the execution of medium and low voltage industrial system projects, including renewable energy integrationCoordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestonesReview and approve engineering documentation, reports, and recommendationsSupport sales team across country, setting up customer training, technical presentation etc.Train Sales, Marketing, BD, Tendering and other execution engineers for various offerFlexibility to travel for site visits and client meetings as required.Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.Client Engagement and Business Development :
Provide technical consultancy and recommendations to clients for system improvementsSupport sales, marketing, and tendering teams by preparing technical proposals and conducting presentationsDrive technical sessions for internal teams and clients to enhance understanding of advanced power systemsInnovation and Strategy :
Develop advanced methodologies for control and protection parameter tuning to enhance grid stability.Recommend configurations and schemes for knowledge-based STATCOM, SVC, and series components.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to innovate solutions.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.10+ years of experience in power and energy systems, with a focus on industrial applications.Expertise / Fair knowledge in tools like ETAP, PSCAD, PSSE, Power Factory and others.Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems, digital twin technology, and protection coordination.Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Looking to make an IMPACT with your career
