Stantec is looking for a Highway Design Engineer that can be a part of our growing team in Pune office. The candidate will be assisting Senior Highway engineers and other senior staff in successful delivery of projects. At Stantec “we put people first” by delivering exciting career opportunities. Responsible for delivery of multiple projects, which may include land development projects, utility and site civil projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, urban / downtown, and / or industrial development projects

Coordinate with regional leads to increase the business for Pune infrastructure team

Carry out hydraulic design including gravity and pressure network, culverts, pond design etc.

Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all civil-engineered systems or products for a project

Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats

Utilize technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups for supporting engineers / designers

Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases including concepts, preliminary site plans, diagrams, and details

Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members, regional leads and / or external consultants, sub-contractors, and vendors

Participate in project requirement meetings and value analysis, and basic cost estimating

Act as a resource to developing engineers, GETs, and other technical staff on multiple independent projects

Assist senior engineers / designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule

Lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents

Perform and oversee the performance of calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software

Utilize advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements

Participate in constructability review, if needed

Conducts quality assurance and quality control on projects

Assist in the development of new standards, efficiencies and specifications for the civil group

Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and provide markups for engineers / designers.

Whenever required, perform grading design including earthwork analysis, broad and detailed site grading and ADA compliance, utility modelling

Design utility systems, including stormwater runoff & conveyance, sanitary sewer collection and water distribution.

Person Specifications :

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering AND OR Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.

15+ years of experience for bachelor’s degree OR 12+ years of relevant experience for master’s degree in various civil infrastructure and / or land development projects and at least 5 years of experience working on and managing land development projects in UK and or NA

Software expertise including hydraulic modelling softwares, AutoCAD Civil 3D experience in site civil / land development / roadway / utility design.

Experience using common data environment, such as ProjectWise, Navisworks, BIM 360 etc. for coordinated model and clash detection, is preferred

Detailed design and engineering knowledge in all relevant areas of land development, site civil works, water, wastewater, and drainage infrastructure components of the projects

Understand Net Zero and Sustainability concepts / aspects in design engineering solutions

Assist in preparation of Bid documents, Bill of materials and cost estimates.

Knowledge of civil engineering design guides / codes for UK and NA regions

Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness

Ability to understand project requirements. Ability to take directions from senior engineers and execute them efficiently,

Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite

Effective communicator with excellent organization skills, & ability to work under tight schedules

Ability to make decisions independently and strong problem resolutions skills

Rigorous attention to detail, able to understand and adopt workflows

Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and technical specialists
