We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Data QA Engineer to join our team on a contractual basis (1 year) . This role is based in Pune or Bangalore (Hybrid working) , and we are seeking candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period (2–3 weeks). The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of strong experience in Data Quality Assurance , with a specific focus on Azure Data Bricks, Azure Data Factory, and Spark SQL . Unlike data engineering roles, this position is focused entirely on data testing and quality validation , ensuring that data pipelines, transformations, and workflows are reliable, accurate, and optimized.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data QA professional to contribute to enterprise-scale data solutions while working closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to validate and ensure the quality of mission-critical data systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Quality Assurance & Testing
• Perform end-to-end testing of data pipelines built on Azure Data Bricks and Azure Data Factory .
• Validate ETL processes, data transformations, and workflows to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• Write and execute complex SQL and Spark SQL queries to test and validate large datasets.
• Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing of data solutions.
• Collaboration & Understanding Data Systems
• Work closely with engineering and product teams to understand complex data systems, business rules, and requirements.
• Partner with data engineers and analysts to identify data issues and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Document test plans, test cases, and test results for transparency and compliance.
• Data Validation & Issue Resolution
• Develop and implement scalable test strategies for structured and unstructured data.
• Proactively identify data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and edge cases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, track, and resolve data quality issues .
• Continuous Improvement
• Recommend process improvements for data validation, automation, and reporting .
• Ensure compliance with best practices in QA and data governance .
• Stay updated on new features in Azure Data services and testing methodologies.
