Job Description

Overview :

We seek a Strategic Plant Head to lead our manufacturing facility in Chennai. This pivotal role will oversee all plant operations, ensuring efficient production of superior mechanical auto components. We require a visionary leader with strong engineering and manufacturing acumen, capable of driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Leadership :

  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with corporate objectives to optimize plant performance and productivity.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and cost-efficiency.

Operational Management :

  • Oversee daily plant operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and safety.
  • Implement strategies to improve production efficiency and meet manufacturing targets.
  • Team Leadership & Development :

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of managers and supervisors to foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development initiatives.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance :

  • Ensure adherence to stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement robust quality control measures and drive continuous improvement initiatives to minimize defects and enhance product quality.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance :

  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Financial Management :

  • Develop and manage the plant s budget to ensure cost-effective operations and alignment with financial targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimize resource utilization.
  • Infrastructure & Asset Management :

  • Oversee maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance of plant equipment and facilities.
  • Plan and execute upgrades and improvements to support production requirements and operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement :

  • Collaborate with senior management to align plant strategies with organizational goals.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders to enhance business outcomes.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the automotive or mechanical components industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading plant operations, driving continuous improvement, and achieving operational excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and other relevant plant management software.
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to make informed decisions and solve complex problems effectively.
