Position Title : UAV Engineer – Helicopter Platform

Overview
We are seeking an experienced UAV Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Pixhawk / ArduPilot-based helicopter platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of system integration, assembly, setup, calibration, testing, and piloting of rotorcraft UAVs. Experience with engine-based helicopter UAVs is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the assembly, integration, and commissioning of helicopter UAV platforms (electric and preferably engine-based).
- Configure, tune and troubleshoot Pixhawk / ArduPilot flight control systems for helicopter applications.
- Perform flight envelope and system validation, PID tuning, log review and performance optimization.
- Conduct ground and flight tests, establish flight procedures, and maintain safety standards.
- Execute maintenance, overhaul, and reliability improvements for rotorcraft UAVs.
- Support payload integration, telemetry, onboard systems and mission equipment.
- Manage documentation : build reports, calibration sheets, test checklists, SOPs, maintenance logs.
- Train internal teams on assembly, operation, and piloting of UAV platforms.
- Provide field support during demonstrations and missions.
Required Skills & Experience
2–5+ years experience working with helicopter-based UAV systems.Strong knowledge in :○ Pixhawk hardware and ArduPilot (Helicopter firmware)
○ System assembly, wiring, vibration management
○ ArduPilot parameters, tuning, and log analysis
Hands-on flight testing and piloting experience.Practical understanding of rotor mechanics, swashplate setup, CG calculation, tail drive, governor systems.Familiarity with UAV safety protocols and DGCA / FAA style field practices.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with internal combustion / engine-based helicopter UAVs.Experience handling carbureted or EFI piston engines in UAVs.Exposure to hybrid power systems, alternators, regulators.Ability to diagnose mechanical & control faults during flights.Experience integrating mission payloads.Soft Skills
