Role Overview
The Product Technician at Cava plays a pivotal role in translating design intent into production-ready garments. This role ensures product accuracy, quality consistency, and adherence to timelines across tech packs, sampling, fit approvals, and vendor coordination. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of garment construction with an eye for quality and precision — ensuring that every product leaving our line meets Cava’s standards of fit, feel, and finish.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tech Pack Accuracy & Spec Creation
- Ensure detailed, error-free tech packs for every style, ensuring clarity and completeness before vendor release.
- Create specification sheets for new styles with detailed specs, measurement points, and digital patterns.
2. Sample Management
Oversee development samples (proto, fit, PP, and mocks) as per T&A timelines.Ensure vendor samples are approved with no critical errors.Coordinate mocks (fabric, trims, prints) prior to sample cutting and production3. Fit & Approvals
Manage fit sessions and ensure fit comments are implemented accurately without rework.Drive on-time approvals for proto, PP, size set, and shipment samples.Conduct pre-production checks and ensure every PP sample is reviewed before sealing.4. Standardize and maintain size charts across categories for both menswear and womenswear
5. Customer Feedback Integration
Review product return data monthly (batch ID / vendor wise) to identify root causes.Partner with Customer Service to incorporate consumer feedback into product improvements and vendor evaluations.Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of garment construction, fits, and finishing.Working knowledge of fabrics, trims, and wash standards.Proficiency in MS Excel, PLM, or related product tracking tools.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication and vendor management abilities.Ability to multitask and work cross-functionally between design, QA, and production teams.Qualifications & Experience
Graduate or Diploma in Fashion Technology / Apparel Production / Textile Engineering.8-10 years of experience in product development, garment technology, or technical design (preferably in apparel / D2C fashion brands).Prior exposure to vendor development, fit management, and QA audits preferred.
