About the role :

Deaf Connect is offering a unique opportunity for four motivated people to earn while they learn, completing the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment , while working as a tutor.

Does this look like you?

  • You enjoy sharing your skills and knowledge, and you have either experience in a classroom or the potential to step into a teaching role.
  • You are either :
  • Deaf and interested in teaching Auslan Qualification courses with Deaf Connect, or

  • A certified interpreter interested in teaching Interpreting Qualification courses with Deaf Connect.
  • You don’t currently hold a TAE40110 or TAE40116 certificate.
  • You can start from November 2025 and commit to a 2-year fixed-term contract (with the possibility of extension).
  • You’re available 24–35 hours per week , which includes both teaching and study time.
  • What the TAE40122 Paid to Learn Job Opportunity offers you :

  • Be paid to study 2 days per week while working as a tutor with supervision with Deaf Connect
  • The opportunity to complete your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in 12 months
  • Get hands-on classroom experience teaching 5 hours per week while studying
  • Have the security of a guaranteed two-year paid position (with possibility to extend) on our teaching team
  • Have your TAE40122 course costs covered by Deaf Connect
  • Access to incentive bonus’s when you complete course milestones
  • While you study and teach with supervision, you will :

  • Work alongside and under the direction of qualified and experienced Trainer / Assessors
  • Access a paid intensive 1 x week workshop to kick start your studies
  • Use the information from your studies, in our classroom and watch your skills and confidence grow
  • Access real life experiences in a classroom which will support your studies
  • Receive structured supervision to build your confidence and skills
  • Follow a formal plan, designed to guide your development and progress.
  • Receive regular feedback and mentorship to support your study progress
  • Attend a Deaf Connect office for regular study days each week
