We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager for our Tool Room department, specifically for Aluminium projects. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our tool room facility, supporting our aluminium projects and maintaining high standards of product quality.

Responsibilities :

1. Supervision and Coordination : Assist the Tool Room Manager in supervising the overall operation of the tool room, specifically focusing on aluminium projects. Coordinate and assign tasks to the tool room team to ensure timely completion of projects and adherence to production schedules.

2. Tool Design and Development : Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop new tools and fixtures for aluminium components. Ensure tooling designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and safe manufacturing practices.

3. Tool Maintenance : Oversee regular maintenance and repairs of tools, dies, and fixtures used in aluminium manufacturing processes. Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of the tooling and minimize downtime.

4. Process Improvement : Continuously analyze and identify areas for improvement in tool room operations. Recommend and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.

5. Quality Control : Conduct regular inspections and measurements on finished aluminium components to ensure adherence to quality specifications. Address any quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.

6. Inventory Management : Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure adequate stock of required tooling materials, spare parts, and consumables for aluminium projects. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, usage, and reordering needs.

7. Training and Development : Provide guidance and training to the tool room team on the proper use of equipment, tooling techniques, and safety protocols. Foster a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and adherence to best practices.

8. Report Generation : Prepare timely reports on tooling activities, performance, and project progress. Present findings to the Tool Room Manager and other relevant stakeholders, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements :

1. Education : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Relevant certifications or tooling qualifications will be considered a plus.

2. Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in tool room operations, specifically working on aluminium projects. Prior experience in the automotive or aerospace industries is highly preferred.

3. Technical Skills : Sound knowledge of aluminium tooling techniques, design principles, and manufacturing processes. Proficient in the use of CAD / CAM software and other computer-aided tooling technologies.

4. Leadership Abilities : Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and motivate a team. Ability to delegate tasks, provide constructive feedback, and optimize resource allocation.

5. Problem Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve tooling issues promptly. Experience in implementing continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma, is an advantage.

6. Quality Focus : Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Familiarity with quality control techniques and relevant industry specifications.

7. Communication : Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and provide clear instructions to team members.

8. Organizational Skills : Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
