Sr IS Service Owner for SAP Global Application Platforms

This Position reports to :

IS Domain Owner

Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory) Owns E2E platform services within SAP GTS, DMS, GRC and Solman Application lifecycle Managment. Focuses on innovation, performance, account management, portfolio management, Service design, Demand and escalation management, stakeholders & expectation management, financial management, resource management and cross-platform technology enablement across the enterprise

This role is contributing to the IS Functional Technology Services-Core ERP Domain . Main stakeholders are Application Manager / ERP Managers. Business representatives, BA CIO and IS cluster heads etc.,

You will be mainly accountable for : Leads the global ownership and strategic direction for SAP platforms including GRC, GTS, Solution Manager (SolMan), and assurance services such as User Access Management (UAM), audit compliance, and controls governance—ensuring alignment with ABB’s enterprise IT, security, and regulatory strategies.

Defines and drives platform strategy and innovation , modernizing core systems through automation, cloud readiness, and enhanced user experiences, while balancing performance, compliance, and operational risk.

Owns the full lifecycle management of SAP platform services—governing architecture, delivery, upgrades, integration, and support—to ensure resilience, scalability, and business continuity across global operations.

Provides leadership and influence across high-stakes stakeholder groups , including Business Area CIOs, Cybersecurity, Internal Audit, Legal, Enterprise Architecture, and Process Owners—building trust through transparency, insight, and execution excellence.

Manages financial performance of services , ensuring cost optimization, value realization, and return on investment across the SAP platform landscape and assurance portfolio.

Oversees platform-level compliance and assurance capabilities , ensuring SOX, ISO, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements are met through continuous monitoring, secure design, and audit-readiness of platforms and processes.

Drives innovation and future-readiness through the evaluation and adoption of emerging SAP capabilities (e.g., GRC enhancements, SolMan to Cloud ALM transitions, AI in access control), enabling ABB’s journey toward a secure and intelligent enterprise.

Leads risk identification and mitigation efforts , proactively managing deviations, audit findings, and control weaknesses through structured action plans and stakeholder engagement.

Fosters cross-functional collaboration across Infrastructure, Security, ERP, Application, and Compliance teams to deliver integrated, compliant, and high-performing platform services.

Acts as a thought leader and transformation agent , championing platform simplification, governance maturity, and continuous improvement to support ABB’s evolving digital and regulatory landscape.

Qualifications for the role (Mandatory) 15+ years  of hands-on experience in  SAP Application Management  across complex, global SAP ecosystems.

Proven track record of  5+ years  in  leading teams , managing  stakeholders , and coordinating with  AMS vendors  in a service delivery model.

Deep expertise in  SAP GTS  with working knowledge of  SAP GRC  and  SAP Solution Manager  core concepts.

Successfully  set up and scaled a Global Service Line  to deliver consistent, high-quality SAP Application Management services.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in any background, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional certifications  in ITIL and other related SAP certifications preferred.
